Carmina Burana

NWA Ballet Theatre and UA Schola Cantorum will present the classic work Carmina Burana at the Faulkner Performing Arts Center April 26 & 27.

Carmina Burana, a collaboration between the Schola Cantorum and NWA Ballet Theatre will bring together music and ballet for a striking visual performance of one of the most popular, powerful, and preeminent musical scores of the 20th century. The Schola Cantorum of the University of Arkansas will provide the music of Carl Orff’s score, accompanied by vocal soloists, two pianists, and percussionists. NWA Ballet Theatre will provide powerful choreography danced by the company’s professional dancers, as well as a stunning visual concept.

Performances will start at 7:30 pm.

In addition to the performance on April 27, an art reception prior to the show featuring exhibits by The Art Gallery at NWA Mall and Brent Umphlett will be held in the lobby at 6 pm. Also, from 6:45-7:15 in the lobby, NWA Ballet Theatre Artistic Director/Choreographer Stephen Wynne will host a Director’s Chat offering a deeper dive into the concept and inspiration of this coproduction.
