Julianna Barrus

began dancing around age 5, taking ballet, tap, and gymnastics at a local dance studio in her hometown Rexburg, Idaho. Focusing primarily on ballet, she continued to train with Idaho Falls School of Ballet and Ballet Arts Rexburg throughout middle and high school. After graduating high school, Julianna attended the University of Utah Summer Intensive and soon after joined Saint Louis Ballet as a professional trainee for their 2022-2023 season, working under directors Gen Horiuchi, Cici Houston Sudholt, and Christine Settembrino. After moving back to Idaho, Julianna joined the newly formed company Ballet Etude in Rexburg under co-directors Kiersten Lewis and Madissen Fujimoto. She was given the opportunity to perform numerous principal and soloist roles in Ballet Etude’s productions of Snow White, The Nutcracker, Act II excerpts from Giselle, and Peter Pan. While dancing with the company, she also attended the advanced ballet class at BYU-Idaho from Jennifer Teuscher. Julianna is very excited to join NWA Ballet Theatre for the 2025-2026 season!
