ava cobb

began her dance training at the age of ten in Seattle, Washington at Evergreen City Ballet under the careful direction of Kevin Kaiser and Louise Nadeau. Her years at this school inspired her love for the art form. Throughout her training, she spent summers with Boston Ballet, Orlando Ballet, and Walnut Hill School for the Arts. In 2014 Ava was accepted into the School of Ballet Arizona, where she spent two years in Ballet Arizona’s Studio Company under the leadership of Carlos Valcárcel. During this time, she had the opportunity to perform principal roles such as Odile from Swan Lake and Gamzatti in the School of Ballet Arizona’s production of La Bayadere. Ava was then hired by Ballet Arizona’s professional company in 2016 under the direction of Ib Andersen. During her time there, she had the opportunity to perform in many critically acclaimed ballets such as George Balanchine’s Square Dance and Western Symphony, and the U.S premier of the classic August Bournonville ballet, Napoli. Additionally, she danced soloist roles like the Winter Fairy in Ib Andersen’s Cinderella and Spanish Princess in ballet Arizona’s production of Swan Lake. Additionally, she performed in world premieres by choreographers such as Ib Andersen and Nayon Iovino. This is Ava’s first season with NWA Ballet Theatre and she is thrilled to share with audiences her passion for dance.
